FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything operators ask before getting started — onboarding, supported organizations, AI generation, exports, and legal disclaimers.

Getting Started

How do I get started with ComplioPractice?

Sign up for a free trial, complete a short onboarding profile (organization type, state, services), and you'll immediately receive a curated recommendation pack tailored to your care setting.

Do I need a legal or compliance background to use this?

No. ComplioPractice is built for operators. The platform guides you through generation, review, and lifecycle management without requiring legal expertise.

How long does onboarding take?

Most organizations complete profile setup in under 10 minutes and have their first documents generated the same day.

Navigating the App

What's the difference between Recommended, Policies, and Documents?

Recommended is your personalized to-do list — what to generate next, ranked by priority for your practice. Policies is your internal rulebook (governance documents your office follows, like HIPAA, OSHA, and the employee handbook). Documents is operational forms — what patients sign and what staff complete day-to-day (intake forms, consents, checklists, audit tools, onboarding packets).

Why isn't every policy on the Recommended page?

Every policy is tagged Essential, Recommended, or Optional. Essential items are regulatory must-haves (HIPAA, OSHA, billing, patient safety). Recommended items are strong best practices for your practice type (infection control, telehealth, employee policies). Optional items are good-to-have at maturity (AI usage, social media). Recommended surfaces Essential and Recommended items so the list stays focused — Optional ones still live in Policies whenever you want them.

How do you decide what's Essential for my practice?

Your onboarding answers drive it — practice type, services offered, state, employee count, telehealth use, whether you accept Medicare, controlled substances, and more. The recommendation engine matches those signals to a curated rule set so you only see what's relevant to how you actually operate.

What is a compliance workspace?

When you complete your profile, ComplioPractice automatically builds your entire compliance workspace — every document your organization needs, sorted by urgency (Urgent / Important / When Ready), grouped by audience (client-facing, staff, HR, management), and ready to generate in one click. Nothing to search for or figure out.

Do you support multi-location organizations?

Yes. The Organization plan supports up to 3 locations with centralized dashboards, per-location readiness scoring, shared libraries, and per-site branding.

Is the platform state-aware?

Yes. Recommendations and document language adapt to your state's regulatory landscape.

AI Generation & Documents

Can I generate forms and onboarding packets?

On paid plans, you can generate as many documents as your organization needs. Generation is one-time per document; download and distribute as often as you want.

Exports & Readiness

What export formats are supported?

Every document exports to PDF and DOCX. Organization plans can export full compliance binders.

How does the readiness score work?

We compare your active documents against the recommended set for your care setting and state, then surface gaps and a real-time readiness percentage.

Does ComplioPractice track annual reviews?

Yes. The platform tracks review cycles, surfaces what's due, and suggests AI-assisted revisions to keep documents current.
